Frequently asked questions about Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)
The most frequently asked question is:
1. Does EFT work on ____________? Newcomers to EFT are constantly
curious about whether EFT will work for their particular ailment.
Answer. The short answer to this FAQ is Try EFT on everything. This
phrase is often repeated by Gary Craig and regular EFT users. However it
is not apparent to the EFT newcomer that this amazing healing technique
can be used on literally any issue that is causing discomfort, pain,
anxiety or illness. When EFT is properly and persistently applied,
healing for ANY issue is about 80% likely. EFT has been shown to provide
consistent relief for fears, phobias, anxiety, depression, and a list of
more than 100 other illnesses and conditions.
An important caution, especially for the novice is to refrain from
attempting to apply EFT to yourself or others if severe psychological
problems persist. Although EFT is used by psychologists, psychiatrists
and mental health professionals, they already have expertise working
with people with mental illnesses. Despite your enthusiasm for EFT, and
its ability to provide relief to many, do not go where you do not
belong.
2. Why didn’t EFT work on ______?
Answer. Often a failure to budge a particular issue is not a failure of
EFT, but a need for the EFT practitioner to be more specific. For
example, you may be applying EFT to a problem with constant headaches
and the headache won’t budge. Instead of applying EFT to “this
headache”, try applying EFT to a more specific description of the
headaches which includes the origins of the problem. An example of a
more specific phrase is “these constant and persistent headaches that
began after I was yelled at by my boss”.
If you are having trouble getting to the core of a problem, I suggest
ordering the EFT training
DVD’s, in which you view dozens of
opportunities to witness the “Art of Delivery” of EFT and get ideas for
more specific
Setup Phrases or consulting with an
EFT practitioner.
Seasoned EFT practitioners have developed their own art of delivering
EFT and often can help you move forward with your healing when you are
stuck.
3. How long does it take to do EFT?
Answer. One round of the shortcut version of EFT typically takes about 3
minutes. Sometimes an issue will dissolve with one round of EFT.
Sometimes it requires several rounds of EFT to completely eliminate the
distress or discomfort around an issue. The key with EFT is to be
persistent.
